The Crested Guineafowl (Guttera edouardi/pucherani) is a 50cm-long, ground-dwelling bird found in African forests and thickets, characterized by a distinct black, curly head crest, red eyes, and black plumage densely covered in white spots. They are social, monogamous birds that forage in groups for insects and seeds, sometimes following monkeys to eat fallen fruit.
